My family gatherings have always had amazing avocado dip. My mum or my sister would usually make it. I remember it being one of those really easy dishes to throw together just before guests arrived.
So it was no surprise when we went up to Brisbane a few weekends ago (to do some wedding planning) that my mum had cooked a kitchen-bench-full of food (all mostly vegan – good on you Mum!) including none other than her avocado dip! Brendan and I were very hungry after our plane trip up to “Brissie”, so we went to town on the dip (and I’m pretty sure Brendan ended up licking the bowl).
Fast forward to now and we’ve made the dip about 5 more times since. So I thought I’d grab some photos and post the super simple recipe!
Avocado Dip in a Boat
Ingredients
2 organic avocados
1 lemon, juiced
2 cloves of garlic, crushed
1/4 tsp celtic sea salt
8 drops of tabasco sauce – or more if you’ve got hair on your chest!
Directions
1. Mash the avocados in a bowl with a fork.
2. Add all other ingredients and adjust taste to your liking (this is the most important part, embrace your inner Mexican).
3. For cute little avocado boats – scoop the dip back into the avocado skins and serve.
What a fab serving idea – v cute.
Thanks
